Parts of the Trumpet
Mouthpiece- The part of the trumpet where the player places their mouth.
Leadpipe- The tube from the mouthpiece to the tuning slide
Valve Pistons- The three valve pistons are what the trumpet player presses in order to change the airflow and therefore the pitch being played.
Valve Casings- The cylinders that the pistons fit into
Valve slides- Three valve slides correspond to the valve pistons. When pulled out or pulled in, they affect the pitch being played by
Bell- The part of the trumpet where the sound comes from
Tuning Slide- Part of the trumpet that is pulled out or pushed in to adjust tuning
Water Key- The small key pressed to release excess water from the trumpet
